1.0 FTE for 12 months, Non Union
Position Summary: The Centre for Research in Family Health is located in the IWK Health Centre. The Centre focuses on psychosocial prevention research in family health.
This position is a web programming/HTML position within the Centre for Research in Family Health working for the Lead Programmer. The developer will create and maintain on-line information systems designed for the Centres multiple research programs.
Skills:
Bachelor of Computer Science, Health Informatics or equivalent
HTML
SQL, relational database design
Familiarity with PHP, Ruby an asset
Familiarity with Windows environment
Ability to work independently as well as perform effectively as a team player
Ability to multi-task and problem solve effectively
Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical end users
Superior organisational and time management skills
User interface/web design skills an asset
Experience administering a Windows server an asset
Experience in a programming environment (other than academic) an asset
Multimedia experience an asset
Interest or experience in Health Services/Health Research an asset
Duties Include:
Creating/maintaining dynamically generated web pages and forms.
Designing new databases. Ongoing maintenance of current systems.
Creating activity/progress reports.
Working with non-technical staff to create applications to their specification.
Assist in the preparing of quotes for new research projects

Anticipated Start Date: March 9, 2009
Salary Range: $18.87231 - $21.44557/hour
